A struggling artist trying to make it. Sometimes I'll indulge in fandom amidst artwork postings and sketches. Actually most of the time. Also, I apparently have a lot of feelings about racism and sexism.

Current shows I'm watching are Nikita, Hawaii Five-O, The Walking Dead, Elementary, probably more to come as long as people of color are represented.

Anti white washing, anti white privilege, anti racism, anti sexism, anti all other isms...people just need to be decent people.

We wouldn’t be doing what we do unless we wanted to see a world where color doesn’t matter. Color shouldn’t matter.   Unfortunately, it still does.  

So many of our supporters have written to let us know how important it has been for them to feel represented in media through Avatar.  Representations in media can and do impact racial attitudes—and can perpetuate racial stereotypes.  

Acknowledging that people of color and characters who have darker skin are underrepresented is not the same as perpetuating racist attitudes.  Likewise, acknowledging that women or LGBTQ characters are underrepresented is not the same as perpetuating sexist or heterosexist attitudes.

It’s not racist to want to be included and represented.
