Which leads us to “21 And Over,” which yes, sounds like your average teen comedy, but we should note: it’s directed by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, the writers and creators of “The Hangover,” so maybe this is one worth keeping an eye on. Here’s the synopsis:
Skylar Astin (“Pitch Perfect”), Miles Teller (“Footloose”) and Justin Chon (“Twilight”) star in “21 And Over,” a hilarious movie that showcases a rite of passage gone horribly wrong. Straight-A college student Jeff Chang has always done what’s expected of him. But when his two best friends Casey and Miller surprise him with a visit for his 21st birthday, he decides to do the unexpected for a change, even though his critical medical school interview is early the next morning. What was supposed to be one beer becomes one night of chaos, over indulgence and utter debauchery in this outrageous comedy.
Co-starring Sarah Wright, Francois Chau, Jonathan Keltz, Daniel Booko and Dustin Ybarra, the movie opens in theaters on March 1, 2013.
An Asian lead in a studio film not about martial arts, etc? This is exciting. Though I’ll hold my judgement (he is playing the straight A medical student so we’ll see) til the film comes out. Skylar Astin was a cutie in Pitch Perfect so there’s another incentive to see it.
Heyyyyyyy.
Gonna keep an eye out for this.
