Ask Me   Artist Mae Lee | 24 | Asian American
Blog | Facebook | Twitter | Website

A struggling artist trying to make it. Sometimes I'll indulge in fandom amidst artwork postings and sketches. Actually most of the time. Also, I apparently have a lot of feelings about racism and sexism.

Current shows I'm watching are Nikita, Hawaii Five-O, The Walking Dead, Elementary, probably more to come as long as people of color are represented.

Anti white washing, anti white privilege, anti racism, anti sexism, anti all other isms...people just need to be decent people.

VOTE, PEOPLE

I struggle with this.
I contradict myself all the time and my opinion changes.
It’s important to vote, yes, because a piece of garbage like Romney should not get into office.
But at the same time, my people CAN’T vote.  They can, have and will die for the U.S. and despite that, they still can’t vote.  They are abused and forgotten and not even given equal rights.  We can be drafted and set to other countries to die and we can’t even vote for the commander in chief.
That’s why I struggle.  That’s not fair no matter how you look at it.  My people die and can’t vote.  And some people say that I should vote for them, but my voice…my vote is my own.  My voice is not the voices of my people.  The voices of Puerto Ricans are all distinct and every last one of them should have the right to express that.
But we don’t.
And that’s not fair.
