A struggling artist trying to make it. Sometimes I'll indulge in fandom amidst artwork postings and sketches. Actually most of the time. Also, I apparently have a lot of feelings about racism and sexism.

Current shows I'm watching are Nikita, Hawaii Five-O, The Walking Dead, Elementary, probably more to come as long as people of color are represented.

Anti white washing, anti white privilege, anti racism, anti sexism, anti all other isms...people just need to be decent people.

Rare color photos of the internment, taken by Bill Manbo, who was held with his family in a Wyoming camp.

My great-grandfather was a teacher from the Big Island of Hawai’i. He and the other educated men of his community, the leaders, the organizers, were all taken away and put into internment camps on the mainland. Because they were educated, and leaders, the U.S. government feared they would become the dissidents, the voices of resistance, and so they were moved. Constantly. From one camp, to another. Never in one place long enough to take root in the community.

To a one, their stories after coming back were about how glad they were to have gotten the chance to see the great country of America.

My great-grandfather never worked as a teacher again. He wasn’t allowed.
